My very first Birchbox arrived today.
What is a Birchbox?
From their website... "Birchbox delivers the best products and the best insider secrets, without any fuss. Every month Birchbox members will receive a curated box of luxe beauty samples. Each box will span beauty categories and deliver exciting products that fit into both your day-to-day routine, and into those days when you want to turn up the drama a notch."
It's $10 per month if you do the month to month program or $110 for the year. I was intrigued by the promising list of brands on their site and signed up for a box to try.
What did I get? A Bvlgari perfume sample, a mini pomegranate bar soap, 2 small packets of Jouer moisture tint, a Jouer sample lip tint and a tiny sample of Erno Laszio serum...
I knew this was going to be a hit or miss situation, and unfortunately, it was a miss for me. I wasn't keen on the products, and they weren't exactly premium sized. I'm on the fence about renewing, perhaps just another month to see if it gets better? Have you tried Birchbox? What are your thoughts on this? Should I give it another go?

That does look quite disappointing! I wouldn't want to try it either, nor would I want to try another box the following month. Thanks for this review.

I just signed up few weeks ago and I have yet to recieve my Birchbox. I was kind of impatient so I looked up what people got on Youtube and saw that a lot of people got a full size Stila eyeshadow...I'm really surprised you didn't get one?? This is really interesting. I can't blame you that you're disappointed, I would be to especially seeing what other people got in previous months. I was totally excited for it but now I feel kind of blah about it.

ReplyDeleteI've been considering to sing up too, but for some reason I was skeptical and unsure, so decided to wait ... and well, honestly - after seeing what you got I'm glad I didn't. Even for $10 - this is a joke :/

ReplyDeleteI've thought about doing Birchbox, but the recent hauls seemed a little disappointing. At first, the samples seemed great and I would see Nars products or Cargo, but I wouldn't be a big fan of perfume samples b/c that's what I always select when I order online from Sephora. I did like when they did the Zoya nailpolishes, but some of the samples just seem like things I would never really want.
ReplyDeleteI love Birchbox; however, yes it does have its "bad" months. Maybe what you need to do is revamp your Beauty Profile. That's a big help or talk to customer service and let them know that you were not happy with the box and they will help you out! They have awesome CS! Revamp your beauty profile and give it one more month! =)

ReplyDeleteI'd give it another month. I have been getting boxes for about 8 months now and it definitely varies b/c some boxes in the past have been good. This month, yeah kind of disappointing.
i think this whole year so far that the birch boxes haven't ben good at all , seems to me that the girls who startd up first with them at the best stuff I feel

ReplyDeleteHmm... I think i'd rather put $10 towards one beauty item I really want than to get a lucky dip of things I might not like monthly. But that might be my neat freak side talking... I hate having too much unused stuff everywhere! So i'd be too scared of getting a box filled with stuff I didn't like. I mean sometimes even when I buy $5 lipgloss and the texture turns out terrible I still feel a ridiculous amount of guilt for having wasted the money XD!

ReplyDeleteThe 3-month is also a perfect gift that's not scary-expensive--$30 for a friend's birthday seems pretty good. I have a makeup-lover friend who would really like this.
