Rimmel released the Glam Eyes quads this Spring to replace their old quads (I think). I was intrigued by the new quads based on the good reviews I've read on the Glam Eyes single shadows and because the new packaging is appealing. There were several shades released and I picked up Sweet Smoulder for the pink shadow in the palette.
Sweet Smoulder #013 ($4.99) composes of a silver-white with a hint of blue, champagne gold, shimmery black, and shimmery pink. The texture and pigmentation varies depending on the shade. The top highlight silver-white blue is not pigmented and on the chalky side, it really doesn't do much as a highlight shade. The shimmery black isn't shimmery when used on the eye and a little hard to blend. The champagne gold and pink are the best of the bunch, smoother and more pigmented.
In summary, nice packaging but the shadow quality is lacking. I have additional product and swatch pictures as well as a face of the day I did using the palette below.

XOXO, M
You look pretty whatever you do but I can tell that the shadows lack punch?
ReplyDelete<3 you look sooo pretty! btw, the cheeks are amazing and glowy too!
ReplyDeleteI don't get, what it is that makes the companies add colors to quads that don't really go that well together : / maybe my imagination is very limited, but I don't really see what to do with the pink in this one. It seems too red to not look as if someone punched u in the face >_<" Oh well.. at least you managed to come up with a great look : D love it!
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering about these palettes since I saw it last year. It's not pigmented for my taste. Thanks for reviewing these. :)
ReplyDeleteI loove it!
ReplyDeleteur skin is FLAWLESS!! so envy :)
ReplyDeleteoh you pretty girl! i went to look for that blush you got and they didn't have any :( lol i guess my walmart sucks :p
ReplyDeleteHey Mona thanks for your review on this I agree that some of the shades aren't pigmented and appears to be chalky when I tested this. Would you like to take my Dark Signature 017 an un-open quad? Let me know and I can kindly send it to you via postal.

as always, you look beautiful in pinks. It's a pity that the pigmentation is lacking though.
ReplyDeletethis palette reminds me of the new esprique precious palettes :) very pretty look Mona! i love the pink glowy cheeks as well! :D
ReplyDeleteyou always look so pretty when doing it. i can't seem to blend colors together correctly. i like dark colors but the end result looks like i have a black eye. >.<
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review! I have this palette too. I thought that it was so pretty and I used it only once. I was a little disappointed in the fact that it wasn't as pigmented as I hoped and yes, it was quite difficult to blend.
