I've been meaning to try something from Inglot for the longest time. I first came across their store when they opened their boutique in the Time Square area. I later saw their booth at The Makeup Show. Both times I didn't have the time to get anything. I finally went back to the store a little over a month ago to get my first Freedom Palette.
Inglot is a Polish brand known for their "Freedom Palettes" which are essentially customizable palettes for anything they offer in pan form. They come in round pans or square pans some of which you can mix and match. For example, I did a round palette with 3 eye shades and 2 lip colors. You can do one with face powders/foundations and blushers. They have a wide selection of colors that you can see on their website. They currently only have a few stores around the U.S., you'll have to use their store locator to see if there's one by you.
I got a 5-pan round palette. It's $25 and I mixed 3 shadows with two lip colors to try out different products. The palette does not come with a brush or applicator but you can purchase one for extra. I also ended up getting a refill shadow on its own just to see if I can fit it into my MAC palette. It fits into a MAC palette but doesn't magnetize to it. Their shimmery shadows really do stand out from the rest. They have this gold reflect to them that's really lovely. The shadows are pigmented and easy to blend. I'd say that their shimmery shadows are rather unique and would get them over any other shadows they offer. The lip colors are just so-so, they have a wide range of colors that are pigmented but the formula is nothing special. What's really attractive is their price point and the wide range of products/colors they offer.
The current price point for their products is very reasonable. A single round shadow refill is $5 compared to MAC's single refill at $11. The round shadows are the same size as MAC and the square shadows they offer are bigger. I've scanned in pages from the brochures they have in store with the prices. Keep in mind that this is as of January 2011. I've heard rumors that they may raise their prices soon. You can click on the following images to see the larger scans:

I do recommend a trip to the Inglot store if there is one by you. It's a lot of fun to look through the makeup they have. The one in Manhattan is at the following address:
1592 Broadway
New York, NY 10036-1526

I personally love DS462 and DS502, they're super wearable and pretty. I've been wearing them frequently.

Here's a inglot shadow in a MAC palette. It fits perfectly fine but it's not magnetized to the palette.

ReplyDeleteThis brand looks great! I just looked at their site and there's a location in SoCal, so I'll be checking it out in the near future :)
ReplyDeletei like Inglot! should have bought more from their store when I was in Warsaw though :'( it's so expensive outside poland!
ReplyDeleteMy sister in law got me Inglot from Dubai and I swore I'm gonna purchase a whole lot of them when I travel. It's not available here nor online. It's a strong company that will surely give MAC a run for its money. My favorite is the highlighting powder AMC Multicolor system FEB and I use it as a blush.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Inglot has really good products and they're quite cheap :) In Poland it's very popular brand, we have their stores in many cities :) I love their eyeshadows and nail polishes! ...and brushes, of course :)
