First Impressions: Zoya Pasha Polish

Zoya celebrated 20,000 Facebook fans with a promotion where you get 3 polishes for free and only pay for shipping ($6.95). Zoya polishes normally retail for $7 per bottle so I took the opportunity and ordered my very first Zoya polishes to try.

The first Zoya polish I added to my shopping cart was Pasha. I've seen beautiful swatches and read great reviews on the shade. The color wasn't what I expected when I saw it in the bottle. Some of the swatches I've seen made it appear more like a dark champagne type shade with a good amount of shimmer. It's actually a taupe with very muted shimmer that can only be seen under certain lighting and angles. It appears more shimmery in the bottle than it does on the nails. It's one of those safe neutral shades that can be worn anywhere.

The formula was disappointing. It turned out to be gooey and not so easy to work with. The polish didn't last very long and started fading and chipping after 2 days. It could be possible that I just got a bad bottle or maybe it's just this shade. The pigmentation however, was good, I applied two coats and a top coat.

It's sad to say that my first Zoya experience didn't live up to expectations. Given the price point I was hoping for a better formula. I won't give up just yet. I still have a few more shades to try from the brand and we'll see how they turn out. *fingers crossed*

I'm wondering if others had a similar experience. Have you tried anything Zoya? What are your thoughts?

XOXO, M

  3. The color is very pretty, though is very dupable, as all the brands have something in similar lines.

  4. It looks so much prettier on you than it did on me! I think Pasha is usually described as a light silvered taupe though. And like I said before, thinner really does wonders for the goopy ones, and unfortunately I think that's just how Zoya polishes get when they're a bit old. I have lots (I think Zoyas make up about 60% of my collection or something obscene like that) that are just wonderful, but the bad ones are all goopy in that same way. (I guess at least they're consistent and fixable lol...) Can't wait to see what else you picked up. =)

  6. I think I'd love the colour more if it was a shade darker! Still, I'm a sucker for colours like these! :P

Hope the other colours turn out better.. and the only Zoya polish I have is Harley and as much as I love the colour, it'd be better one shade darker :)

  7. i don't love zoya's formula- personally nothing beats OPI for me. :) the only reason i picked some up was the three free promotion- i picked up melodie after seeing your tweet, and i LOVE it! i also got raven & edyta. i was a little worried about edyta, but i swatched both when i got them, and i was surprisingly pleased with all of them. :)

  8. i agree with the formula. it's pretty hit or miss. the color ranges are wonderful tho. my first experience 1 of 3 polishes i ordered worked well. the rest were pretty goopy, i feel. my latest order w/ them was from the facebook 3-free promo and i was actually quite happy with the colors. i got kelly, dea, and richelle. i loved the color of kelly but it started chipping way earlier than other polish brands that i've tried. i'm not going to give up yet either. i still have hope! haha

  10. some of their shades are goopier than others, but like Cat said, a little thinner helps :) Pasha seems to run warm on you, or maybe it's a different formula from the bottle I have? Looking forward to seeing the other shades you got!

  19. I bought Pasha myself from Zoya, and had the same problem. The formula was gooey and it only lasted 2 days. I also got it from the facebook 20,000 fans celebration. I'm pretty disappointed as well. :(
