I'm on the hunt for a new coat, something affordable and warm. There are some pretty good discounts going on now that most of the major retailers are clearing out their inventory in stores for the upcoming Spring collection. I came across the Banana Republic
Long Wool Military Coat in stores for $149.99 with an additional 40% off. My problem with the jacket is that the XS size is tight around the shoulders while the S size is a little too big.
I'm wearing the coat in XS in the picture. I'm wearing a light sweater underneath and it fits fine, slightly tight around the shoulder but it doesn't bother me much. But, what if I wore a thick sweater? I'd need some wiggle room no? What do you guys think?

The military coat looks good on you :) I keep eyeing the length though. It's a bit long on you, but if you wear heels, it would look really hot too :) I love the brown boots next to you! :)

Looks fab on you! However, I have to agree when you thought twice about getting it since it's gonna be too tight 'round the neckline with thicker sweater underneath it.
ReplyDeleteYou may want to sacrifice aesthetics for function. Whatever you want to prioritize, IMO. I completely understand how difficult it is to pass up on this since it looks superb and it's on a huge sale!
I think Small size shoud work better. You can try that over a thock sweater. If it fits well, then I guess that would be good choice.

The coat looks good on you but if you want to get a jacket that you would be comfortable with, I would say don't get it. I rather invest in a jacket that's comfortable and form-fitting rather than buy something really inexpensive and feel uneasy in it.

@Catherine thanks! They do allow dogs at the freestanding Banana Republic stores. I'm not sure about the mall though.

I adore this coat!! I'm pretty sure I tried the same one on 2 weeks ago & I had the same problem with fit. The small was too tight under my arms and the medium was a bit big.
