New look for the blog, its about time that I put up a summer theme. Finally sorted through my taipei pics to do this post. I flew China Airlines from HK to Taipei. I won't get into the details but NEVER will I EVER take that airline EVER again, not if my life depended on it.
I don't get why these tiny little streets are always two ways in asia...
street vendors
Taipei has tons of DAISOs! They're big and really nice inside
helmets are sold everywhere, tons of variety
inside mister donut
These doughnuts are cute, but they're no krispy kreme
Tried Mosburger, the burger was SO NOT my thing but the fishburger was OK
SOGO
The guys making your soup dumplings
Din Tai Fung, the famous soup dumpling place from Taipei with chains across asia. Definitely wasn't as good as the place in Shanghai. Believe me, I take soup dumplings very seriously
My very first Jill Stuart purchase!
Blusher in Apricot, I swatched all of them before settling on this one. Yumeko recommended it to me and she's the queen of Jill Stuart. All Japanese prods in Taipei are cheaper. This blusher was $39USD. ($1 to 34NT conversion at the time)
New York New York :) there's a giant daiso in there too
food was just ok
everything is fried
mmmmmhhhh haagen daz! its a panda! how cute!
the pillow is so darn cute too
I was really amused by their subway token. You scan it as you go in and drop it into the machine when you're leaving. I later found out that its the same in Bangkok
TONS of bikes everywhere
Tokyu Hands is called Hands Tailung for some reason
night market
not that crowded that night
Lady getting massaged by chopping knives... WTF?
lots of street food
The first batch of my My Beauty Diary Masks haul. I had to toss out all the boxes or else it won't fit in my suitcase
majo majo blush I like this one, kate and majo majo palettes
More Watsons face sponge that I love!! They're not sold at the HK Watsons? But they're in Shanghai and Taipei. Got another Orbis UV spray.
Remember the hair flowers I bought in Japan? Here's what one of them looks like
Ximending at night, its the harajuku of Taipei
those ginormous ice cream
Etude House
A MoMo beauty store! :D
How come I didn't buy any Kevin BeautyMaker products? Its not sold at stores in Taipei, online only.
Off to Bangkok I went. I have a ton of pics from Bangkok to sort through!
loveee your buys xD yay for jill stuart! and i love the flower hair thingy.. too bad the food wasn't that great.. but at least the ice cream looked like a panda xD
ReplyDeleteI think I went to that exact same Daiso when I visited taiwan 4 yrs ago and I also tried Mos Burger because it's quite famous in TW! I do feel bad I didn't buy any beauty masks! didn't know they were great at that time! :)

ReplyDeleteI think I'm hauling JS for my next birthday lol.
You look cute with the heart shape cushion! Thanks for the picturess... and it is always 2 ways on the side in asia especially for night markets to fully utilise the space and surround you with food and etc. =D
ReplyDeleteI spy a Little Twin Stars helmet! Wish I had one even though I don't own a bike...ha! Hee hee...speaking of Din Tai Fung, I will be doing a post on their L.A branch soon. And what is up with that knife massage? She better be careful or ouch...hahaha! Your haul is enviable....love it!

ReplyDeletedefinitely many small restaurants in shanghai make much better xiao long bao!
and you are so right not to fly china airline. i never fly it since i was 10. dad said unless you want crap service and a crash! grr...
ReplyDeletecathy is much better but singapore airline is my top choice.
I want to go to Taiwan. Love the night market. Did you try their Taiwanese snow dessert? I don't know what they call it, but it's like a snow cone, except it's a lot creamier like a ice-cream.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you had a bad experience with China airlines, I've not flown with them before as I've herd too many bad stories, but I'm glad you're safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteMos Burger and Mister donut have NOT grown on me either. I'd rather have a Kirspy Kreme or McD's hahahaha.
